6 Days Discover The Tanzania on Foot Safari, Begin your adventure with a walking safari in Arusha National Park, just 30 minutes from Arusha city. Here you’ll spot giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and black-and-white colobus monkeys.

The next morning, join the Hadzabe—the last hunter-gatherers of East Africa. Learn ancient skills such as fire-making with sticks, using bows and arrows, and gathering roots, tubers, and fruits. You may also follow the men on a morning hunt or, in the rainy season, witness honey gathering.

Itinerary Description.

Day 1: Walking Safari Arusha National Park.

Enjoy a full-day walking tour in Arusha National Park. Just 30 minutes’ drive from Arusha city, you’ll begin spotting wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and black-and-white colobus monkeys.

The park boasts an incredible variety of flora and fauna that never fails to impress. Hollywood even chose this region as the filming location for the movie Hatari, starring Hardy Krüger alongside the legendary John Wayne.

Your day trip includes a visit to the Ngurdoto Crater, where buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, and baboons can be seen year-round, along with many bird species. At the Momella Gate, an armed ranger will join you for the walking safari, giving you the rare chance to experience wildlife up close—an opportunity offered by only a few national parks in Tanzania.

Lunch will be enjoyed at a picnic site, and in the afternoon, you’ll continue exploring the park by safari vehicle. After ample time to observe the wildlife, we return to Arusha for your overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Game Drive Tarangire National Park.

Today we drive to Tarangire National Park, for excellent game viewing. Tarangire is a small park that offers some excellent sights. Generally, in the dry seasons, Tarangire comes alive as wildlife and birdlife congregate on the Tarangire River, which is a permanent source of water. We spend the night in our lodge beautifully set outside the park with stunning views and a unique atmosphere later evening drive to Eileen’s Tree Inn at Karatu.

Day 3: Cultural Tour  Hadzabe and Datoga Tribes.

Start early with your bushman guide to meet the Hadzabe, the last hunter-gatherers of East Africa. Walk into the bush to learn traditional skills such as hunting, tracking, fire-making, and honey gathering (seasonal). Your guide, a member of the tribe, will introduce you to his people and share insights into their customs and way of life.

In the afternoon, visit the Maasai market for vibrant cultural encounters and spectacular photo opportunities. In the evening, return to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn Lodge (full board).

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Tour.

After breakfast, we drive to the Ngorongoro gate to visit the world’s largest intact volcanic crater. At over 2,000 feet deep and 12 miles wide, the Ngorongoro Crater hosts around 30,000 animals, making it one of Africa’s best places to spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard. We enjoy a game drive and picnic lunch in this spectacular setting, often called the 8th Wonder of the World.

In the afternoon, we continue to Lake Manyara. Dinner and overnight at Nsya Tented Camp (full board).

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park

Depart from your lodge at Mto wa Mbu and head to Lake Manyara National Park. Though small, the park is incredibly diverse, with groundwater forests, open grasslands, hot springs, and the Soda Lake set against the Great Rift Valley wall.

Enjoy a picnic lunch while spotting wildlife such as buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, baboons, and over 350 bird species. The park is also famous for its elusive tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha.

Dinner and overnight at Masailand Safari Lodge (half board).

Day 6: Departure.

Depending on your flight schedule and departure point you will be transferred to the airport to connect your flight for further travel.

Program Highlights

3 Day Tanzania – Cultural Tour to Hadzabe and Datoga Tribe with Kilipeak Adventure is one of the very unique tribes we have in Tanzania, the last hunter-gatherer’s tribe left in Tanzania.

HADZABE
In the morning clients will join the Hadzabe and interact with them, and learn so many stuff like how to make fire by using two dry sticks, the way which has been used for thousands of years. The Bushmen will teach them how to use their bow and arrows, collecting some tubers, roots, and fruits with the women or join the men on hunting.

Hunting is done in the morning; clients will follow the hunters behind and see how the hunting is done. The honey gathering is part of it, but depending on the season as the honey gathering is done in the rainy season. Join on Hadzabe tribal dance. Here the tour may take 3 to 4 hours

DATOGA
Once they are done with the Hadzabe Bushmen, they will join the other tribe called Datoga, which resembles the Maasai in culture. These people are also a blacksmith, as they make weapons such as arrowheads and knives which they trade with the Bushmen.

Tourists can see how they make all those stuff (arrowheads, spears, knives, bracelets, etc), also how they grind maize with stones, how they melt brass, copper, or aluminum.
Here the tour will last for almost 1 hour.

Itinerary Description.

Day 1: Arrive in Arusha, Tanzania.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International airport, met and greeted by Kilipeak Adventure driver guide, and assisted through customs and immigration formalities. Thereafter, drive to Arusha town for accommodation
Dinner and overnight at Karama Lodge and Spa: Half board.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Eyasi

Breakfast in the lodge, depart for Lake Eyasi safari to meet up the elusive Hadzabe tribe, whom you learn more about their fascinating culture. Picnic lunch then we go for Datoga village tour then back in the evening for the overnight.
Dinner and overnight at Tindiga Tented camp: Full board.

Day 3: Full Day Hadzabe Tribe Tour

Start off early with your bushman guide to meet a group of resident Hadzabe people. Enjoy the Hadzabe Tour walking into the bush with the only hunter-gatherers remaining in the East African region. The Hadzabe speak a click-based language and move their encampments with the seasonal movements of the wildlife. Your guide is a member of the group and teaches you more about how they hunt, track wildlife, make fire, and even take honey from bee’s nests before introducing you to his people and explaining a little more about the customs and the way of life.

In the afternoon we travel to the Maasai market where you will have the opportunity to get the spectacular photos you want. Hundred of Maasai gather each Thursday afternoon at the bustling Maasai market, where visitors have the chance to see their crafts and taste their food, including the famous Maasai BBQ. A larger, village-wide market occurs on the 22nd of each month. In the late afternoon, we drive back to Arusha for the overnight.
