Every safari vehicle carries a maximum of six passengers so that every passenger is guaranteed a window seat and access to the photographic roof hatch at all times during the safari. Every safari vehicle is serviced after each safari.

A vehicle is only as good as the driver and our drivers are excellent. Driver guides are all trained naturalists who have more than five years of experience with us. They know their way around the parks and are skilled at spotting and identifying wildlife. They are also trained to prepare delicious picnic lunches in the bush so that you can maximize your game viewing opportunities.

Game viewing from the vehicle is one of the core activities of a wildlife safari. Drives are conducted in the morning and evening, but depending on the time of year and weather conditions may extend throughout the day. It is often best to head out for a game drive very early after a quick cup of coffee and a muffin, returning later for a leisurely breakfast. Alternatively, a camp breakfast could be followed by a long morning game scouting drive with a picnic carried along and eaten whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Tanzania Top Destinations

Tanzania Top Destinations

Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs

Kilipeak Adventure Top Destinations from Mount Kilimanjaro climbs, Serengeti safari and beach holiday in Zanzibar.
MOUNT KILIMANJARO

At 19,340 ft., Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the largest free-standing mountain in the world. Surrounding the base of this huge dormant volcano is tropical montane forest rich with unique flora and fauna. Further up, heath forest opens into a moorland dotted with giant senecio and lobilia. A magnificent zone of rock and ice leads to the summit crater where sulfur gas still emits from the ash pit. Just above the crater floor is Uhuru Peak, the mountain’s true summit.
Climbing Kilimanjaro has become increasingly popular in recent years. The Marangu (Tourist) Route in particular has become severely congested. In an effort to keep our experience high quality, African Environments decided to stop using the Marangu Route in 1995 and to develop new routes on the spectacular western side of the mountain. Our clients on these western routes not only enjoy a pristine wilderness experience, they also ascend more gradually, allowing their bodies to acclimatize more fully to the extreme elevations. The journey is far more pleasant and avoids many of the potentially life-threatening high altitude medical problems associated with a shorter climb.
SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
9 Days Mara River Clossing Safari
In the Maasai language, Serengeti means “wide open space.” This vast park must be seen to be believed, both for the landscape and for the world’s largest migrations of mammals. The Serengeti is located in northern Tanzania, lying adjacent to the smaller Maasai Mara Reserve in southern Kenya. The border between the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara is closed to tourist traffic, but wildlife flows across freely. Serengeti National Park is a 6-8 hour drive from Arusha, much of it along poor dirt roads. Most people choose to break the journey with a night at either Ngorongoro Crater or Lake Manyara. Flying to the Serengeti from Arusha may also be arranged via scheduled light aircraft or private charter. Although one could easily spend weeks exploring the vast Serengeti, safaris in the Park are commonly 4-8 days in length.
NGORONGORO CRATER
serengeti safari
Ngorongoro Crater formed when a massive volcano collapsed in upon itself, leaving the largest intact caldera (crater) in the world. Inside the 12 mile diameter Crater, the concentration and diversity of wildlife is probably greater than anywhere else in Africa. Clients spending a day in the Crater (accessible only by 4-wheel-drive vehicles) enjoy tremendous wildlife viewing at close range. There are no accommodations in the Crater, but several outstanding lodges on the Crater rim offer spectacular overviews and are fine staging locations for game drives into the Crater. Campsites on the eastern slope of the Crater wall also allow superb access to the wildlife. We often place our luxury camps in these locations as bases for clients spending one or more days exploring the Crater floor.
With the Crater as its centerpiece, the surrounding Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a stunning multiple-use region almost as large as the Serengeti. Forested mountains, rugged highlands, smaller volcanic craters, and expansive plains feature spectacular vistas and game viewing, and almost no other tourists. Unlike the national parks, the conservation area is still home to Maasai people who maintain their traditional pastoral lifestyle in harmony with wildlife. Cool temperatures, opportunities to become acquainted with the Maasai, and fantastic hiking make this area ideal for our walking safaris.
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
8 Day Safari in Lake Eyasi, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater Just an hour’s drive from Arusha, Tarangire National Park has 2600sq/km of pristine savanna wilderness. The park is particularly famous for its elephant population, numbering in the thousands. The Tarangire River, which runs through the Park, is the only source of water for wildlife in the ecosystem during the dry season and thousands of animals are attracted in. Although elephant viewing in Tarangire is excellent year round, a dry season visit can be an event of a lifetime.
ZANZIBAR ISLAND
Beach Vacation in Zanzibar 7 Days Itinerary.Just off the coast of mainland Tanzania lies famous spice island of Zanzibar. A rich blend of African, Arabic, and Indian cultures has given this place a unique character. The historical ‘Old town’ with its tiny winding alleyways, beautiful decorated doors, colorful bazaars, Mosques, and courtyards, reflects the islands long and varied past. Around the island there are many beautiful white sand beaches bordering an azure sea, filled with colorful tropical fish, and spectacular coral. Only a short fight from Arusha, Zanzibar is a refreshing contrast to the parks and mountains of Northern Tanzania, and provides an excellent place to rest and relax.

Our safari vehicles with the hatched roof for shade against sunny African wilderness; are the extended body with roomy seats for comfortable sitting and stretching out legs. Dinner and overnight at Masailand Safari Lodge: Half board.

Day 2: Safari Arusha National Park.

After breakfast we will drive from your lodge to Arusha national park for full-day game driving, you will see many attractions like the Black and White Colobus Monkey, Arusha is a breathtaking park that includes the alkaline Momella Lakes, the Ngurdoto Crater, and spectacular waterfalls. It has as its dramatic backdrop the 4566 meters high Mt. Meru. Later evening drive back to Arusha.
Dinner and overnight at Masailand Safari Lodge: Half board.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park.

We depart from your lodge and proceed to Lake Manyara National Park. Although small in size, this park is one of the most diverse reserves in the country. Lake Manyara covers two-thirds of the park. At the backdrop is the wall of the Great Rift Valley, before which lies the groundwater forest, areas of open grassland near the lake foreshore, and the Soda Lake. We enjoy a picnic lunch in this area, which consists of open grassy areas, hot springs, dense woodlands, and steep mountainsides. In the evening we will drive black to the lodge.
Dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn Lodge: Full board.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park.

we proceed to Olduvai Gorge, known as the ‘Cradle of Mankind’. It was here, in the Great Rift Valley, that the remains of early hominids dating back 2 million years were uncovered. Afterward, we visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world – Serengeti National Park. The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. Yet for its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game-viewing. Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration that brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle. Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephants, giraffes, and buffalo. As the lions, leopard, cheetah, hyenas, and jackals stalk their meals, we enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena.
Dinner and overnight at Kirimu Luxury Camp: Full board.

Day 5: Another Day Serengeti National Park.

We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; we can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, surrounded by wildebeest and zebras. We journey from the wide-open plains to the kopjes: these volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals and from the top, we can see out across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing, we will hopefully see all of the plain game; elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions, and if you are lucky the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of interesting birdlife such as the elegant secretary birds and the flightless ostrich.
Dinner and overnight at Kirimu Luxury Camp: Full board.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Area.

Morning game drive in Serengeti; afternoon drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
We have a final game drive in the Serengeti before heading back into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater where we spend the night.
Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Wild Tented Lodge: Full board.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Tour.

Sleeping near the Ngorongoro Crater means that we are one of the first vehicles to descend into the caldera. Ngorongoro is a Conservation Area rather than a national park. This means that the whole area is managed by both the animals and the local Maasai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. During the drive down to the crater floor, we will gain a glimpse of the Maasai’s lifestyle. The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals, which means there is plenty to see: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards (if you are lucky enough). The only animal you won’t see here is a giraffe, whose long legs are unable to cope with the steeps sides of the crater. Later this afternoon we will leave the crater.
Dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn Lodge: Full board.

Day 8: Tarangire National Park.

Today we head to Tarangire National Park. The park, which has its own source of water, comes into its own in the dry season as birdlife congregates on the Tarangire River, and herds of giraffe, zebra, buffalo, and, in particular, the elephant can be seen. Predators such as lions and leopards are also regularly spotted here.
Our lodge is located within the park. It has a large lookout area from where sundowners can be had whilst watching the game on the sweeping plains below later we will drive back to Arusha
Dinner and overnight at Masailand Safari Lodge: Full board.

Day 9: Fly back Home or Zanzibar.
