This area of west Usambara is nicknamed Switzerland of Africa because of the mountain range.


Day 1: Arrive to Tanzania

Meet a Kilipeak Adventure staff at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). then drive to Arusha for Accommodation at Masailand Safari Lodge, which is a beautiful hotel located on the slope of Mount Meru and is a perfect place to prepare for your adventure Tour.
Safari Guide will gather in the hotel for a pre-safari briefing.
Dinner and overnight at Masailand Safari Lodge: Bed and Breakfast included.

Day 2: Birds Watching and Walking Safari to Arusha National Park.

In the morning, we will collect you from your hotel and take you to Arusha National Park. The park has an incredible variety of flora and fauna, which cannot fail to impress. Hollywood also chose this region to film the movie “Hatari” Swahili for “Danger!”) in which Hardy Kruger starred alongside the legendary John Wayne. Your day trip will include a visit to the Ngurdo Crater. Expects Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, and baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species. At the Momella Gate, an armed ranger will be waiting for us to accompany us on the walking safari that will give you the chance to experience the wildlife up-close. Only a few other national parks in Tanzania give you such an opportunity and it is something that should not be missed. Lunch will be taken at a picnic place and in the afternoon, you will continue your tour in the safari vehicle through the Arusha National Park. After plenty of time allocated for you to observe the wildlife, we will drive back to Arusha overnight.

Day 3: Arusha to Mkomazi National Park.

An early start is very essential picked up from the hotel with packed lunch start a straight drive to Mkomazi national park it is located 186 km drive from Arusha, arrive at the park and after registrations, we start the game drive and walking tour with an armed park ranger, Mkomazi is outstanding for East Africa birds watching site.  Dinner and overnight at Elephants Motel: Bed, Dinner, Breakfast, and lunch included.

Day 4: Birds Watching and Walking to Mkomazi National Park.

Morning pick-up from your hotel and departs to Mkomazi National Park.
Game drives, walking safari with an armed ranger to accompany us, an amazing bird watching tour can be done in this beautiful national park.

Day 5: Walking Safari to Mkomazi.

After breakfast drive, you’ll go for a full day of game viewing taking a packed lunch to maximize your time. Most of the animals that you’ll see are endangered species, particularly the black rhinos, wild dogs, along with several bird species. After an exciting day of wildlife viewing, you’ll drive back to your hotel in the evening.

Day 6:  Trekking to Usambara Mountain.

After breakfast we drive to Mombo and Korogwe towns can be seen the drive to Lushoto ready for the tour
The walk takes about 4-5 hours. The tour on Montane Forest, a high chance to see most colorful forest bird species, reptiles (like chameleons), butterflies, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, vervet monkeys, and forest flowers. Pick up lunch will be provided on the way during lunchtime. On the way visit the village close to the Vuga peak. On arrival at the lodge, you can take a short walk for bird watching or to the waterfalls.

Day 7: Birds Watching to Usambara Mountain.

After breakfast, walk and tour the Usambara Mountain forests. This is a great opportunity to see several forest bird species, reptiles, butterflies, black and white colobus monkeys, and many more features. A picnic lunch is provided on the way. You can arrange a village tour where you can learn about the traditional way of life of the indigenous communities

Day 8: Lushoto to Arusha

After morning breakfast we will take a drive back to Arusha.

Due to the recent Covid 19 worldwide pandemic, to keep our guests and indeed our staff safe, we have made serious steps to cub the impact of the pandemic that we would like to make you aware.  We believe that with careful planning and consideration by our staff and guests we can continue to provide the best hospitality services on safari.  For now, this may be our new norm and routines.

The measures taken include the following:
  1. All our staff have received full vaccination approved by WHO
  2. All our staff have received full training in health and safety-related to the COVID-19 virus and are required to be extra vigilant with their personal hygiene and daily routines.
  3. Health condition of driver-guides will be monitored for not less than a week before being assigned to take clients on safari.
  4. City transfer and safari vehicles will be regularly disinfected before picking up clients, especially the high-touch surfaces and seats.
  5. While our vehicles are already cleaned between transfers, they will now also be disinfected between each use.
  6. To keep social distancing, safari vehicles with 4-window seats will be redesigned to take only 2 people in the passenger cabin.
  7. Safari vehicles with 6-window seats will still be available for families/group of friends wishing to travel together in one vehicle.
  8. The driver-guide will be at hand to oversee guests observe the recommended physical distancing at park entry gates, picnic sites, and while checking in at accommodation facilities.
  9. Each guest will receive their own adventure kit, which includes a Wildlife Guides' Journal, mini fan, mask and hand sanitizers, as well as a pair of binoculars – all in cleaned before each new set of guests.
  10. Guests are encouraged to come with their own masks;
  11. The driver-guide will take necessary personal protection precautions at all times which include wearing of masks and using sanitizer regularly after each physical contacts.
  12. Please be assured that all our selection of partner properties we work with have their strict COVID-19 hygiene policy in place.
  13. Tanzania wasn't Really affected by Covid 19 to the same extent as most other countries, especially those in Europe and South America. However, we will keep the above measures in place for your peace of mind.

Our meet and greet teams at airports will still be there to accompany guests into transfer vehicles.
