11 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach Vacation with Kilipeak Adventure, This one is a typical 11 days family Tanzania safari, that takes you and your family to the national parks in the north of Tanzania as well as taking you to Zanzibar Island for a relaxing family beach holiday. The safari includes the visit to the most famous wildlife areas including the Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park, and the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park. Apart from the animals and birds that the kids will enjoy seeing, we have also included a visit to a Masai village in the Ngorongoro Conservation area which always excites kids, as they get to learn about the unique cultures and traditions of the African people.

Our safari vehicles with the hatched roof for shade against sunny African wilderness; are an extended body with roomy seats for comfortable sitting and stretching out legs. Every guest is accessible to the window seat. Cars are also fitted with fridges, power charge sockets and VHF radio calls for easy and fast communication with the base office.

Day 1. Arrival day, Tanzania

Arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). There will be a private transfer from the Airport to Arusha at Mount Meru hotel.
We stay at Mount Meru Hotel, which is a beautiful hotel located on the slope of Mount Meru and is a perfect place to prepare for your safari.
Dinner and overnight at Mount Meru hotel: Bed, Dinner, and Breakfast.

Day 2. Tarangire National Park:

Today we drive to Tarangire National Park, for excellent game viewing. Tarangire is a small park that offers some excellent sights. Generally, in the dry seasons, Tarangire comes alive as wildlife and birdlife congregate on the Tarangire River, which is a permanent source of water. We spend the night in our lodge beautifully set outside the park with stunning views and a unique atmosphere. In the late afternoon, we make a short journey from the park to our special lodge.
Dinner and overnight at Marera Valley Lodge: Bed, Dinner, Breakfast, and Lunch.

Day 3. Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Safari.

We head towards the Serengeti National Park. En route, there is an opportunity to visit Olduvai Gorge. It is within this steep-sided ravine that Louis and Mary Leakey made some of the world’s most important archaeological discoveries in the 1950s. Here is a small museum we are able to see evidence of our ancestors that have been dated back 2.5 million years. After lunch, we drive into the Serengeti itself and the rest of the afternoon is spent game viewing in the vast plains that are broken only by stands of acacia trees and the occasional kopje. In December, February and March we will normally meet the migration with large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. There are always plenty of resident animals, such as giraffes, buffalo, and elephants, and many large predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. We return to our special tented camp for the night.
Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Safari Lodge: Bed, Dinner, Breakfast, and Lunch.

Day 4. Serengeti National Park Hot Air Balloon Safari.

Serengeti Balloon Safari is probably the most beautiful balloon flight in the world and the ultimate Safari Experience which makes you enjoy the most beautiful migration of wildebeests through the endless plain of Serengeti.
5:00 am, Serengeti Balloon Safaris will collect you from your central Serengeti lodge or camp, and transfer you by Landrover to our launch site near Masai Kopjes. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon.
At dawn we take off, rising as the sun rises and float in whichever direction the winds of the morning take us.
Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon: sometimes flying at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. After breakfast, you are taken to the rendezvous point to meet with your driver guide and continue with your full-day game drives.
Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Safari Lodge: Bed, Dinner, Breakfast, and Lunch.

Day 5. Serengeti Wildebeest Migration Safari.

We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; we can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest, sometimes by zebras, which travel with the wildebeest. We journey from the wide-open plains to the kopjes: these volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals and from the top, we can look out across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing, we will hopefully see all of the plain games; elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions, and if you are lucky the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of the interesting birdlife, from the elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich. We return to our special lodge for the night.
Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Safari Lodge: Bed, Dinner, Breakfast, and Lunch.

Day 6. Ngorongoro Crater

We start the day with an early morning game drive before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is a special place in that it is a Conservation Area, not a National Park; this means that the whole area is managed for both the animals and the local Masai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. During the drive-in Ngorongoro, we have a chance to glimpse something of the Masai way of life. After stopping at the entrance gate, where there is a chance to learn more about this fascinating volcanic landscape, we will drive around the rim of the Crater itself, and from here we can look down and see the herd of wildebeest or buffalos. Finally, we descend into the crater. The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals, which means there is plenty to see: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino, and leopards (if you are lucky). The only animal you won’t see in here is a giraffe, whose long legs are unable to cope with the steeps sides of the crater. In the late afternoon, we travel just outside of the Crater to our special tented camp.
Dinner and overnight at Marera Valley Lodge: Bed, Dinner, Breakfast, and Lunch.

Day 7. Lake Manyara National Park

Today we drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game drives. This is one of Tanzania’s smaller parks but still offers a rewarding and diverse safari experience. The lakeshore at Manyara teems with birdlife, and while you are looking for the birds, you might spot one of the elusive tree-climbing lions. There are a surprising number of other large mammals and the striking cliffs on the Rift escarpment form a dramatic backdrop. In the late afternoon, we make a short journey from the park to Arusha.
Dinner and overnight at Mount Meru hotel: Bed, Dinner, and Breakfast.
