Program Description
Day 1 Arrive in Zanzibar.
Arrive at Zanzibar Airport anytime you will meet us at the airport and pick up with private transfer to Stone town to Tembo Hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay at Tembo House Hotel: Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2 Guided trip in Stone town.
Your program starts with a morning visit by walk on our Historical Stone Town Tour. This tour takes you through fabled Stone Town, where history appears to stand still. With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace), and the Arab Fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar’s bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals, and countless mosques!
Dinner and overnight stay at Tembo House Hotel: Bed and Breakfast.
Day 3: Spice farm and Jozani Forest trip.
Today you go on an excursion to the spice and fruit plantations close to Stone town for the famous Spice Tour. We have developed a special Spice Tour with in-depth information not only about spices but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description of their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking.
On the way, you pass Jozani Forest, the last habitat of the rare endemic Red Colobus Monkey. With a local guide, you stroll through Jozani Chwaka National Park and look at the rare monkeys. If you wish you can even wander down the boardwalk to the fascinating Mangrove Ecosystem.

Day 4: Dolphin Trip.
One day you go on an excursion to Kizimkazi. Situated on the southern point of the island, Kizimkazi fishing village is home to several schools of bottle-nosed dolphins and Humpback dolphins, which can often be sighted following a short boat trip from the village. If you are lucky, you may be able to swim quite close to the dolphins, which can be a very rewarding experience. We are doing this trip in the afternoon to avoid the crowds of tourists in the morning, which in big numbers disturbing the dolphins.

Day 5: Departure day.
Depending on your flight schedule and departure point you will be transferred to the Zanzibar Airport to take a flight back home.

Mount Meru is a dormant stratovolcano mountain located 70 kilometers (43 miles) west of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. At a height of 4,568m. meters (14,968 ft) above the sea level and is the fifth-highest mountain in Africa and is the second-highest mountain in Tanzania at 4,568m. Mount Meru is the topographic centerpiece of Arusha National Park. Its fertile slopes rise above the surrounding savanna and support a forest that hosts diverse wildlife, including nearly 400 species of birds.
Program Description
Arrival in Tanzania
Arrive anytime you will be picked up by the staff of Kilipeak Adventure and Safari’s from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and driven to your accommodation in Arusha.
Mountain Guide will gather in the hotel for a pre-climb briefing and an equipment check.
Dinner and overnight at Jabulani Private Villa: Dinner and Breakfast
Day 1: Momella Gate (1580m) – Mriakamba Huts (2500m)
Driving from Jabulani Private Villa to Momela Gate (1580m). After a short registration at the Gate, our walk will begin with full armed ranger escorting us, simply we can see along the way the wild animals including buffalo, zebras, and giraffe, monkeys, antelope, and often elephants along the route. As you continue hiking, you will pass the Ngarenanyuki River and a beautiful waterfall at the base of Mt. Meru. Upon arriving at Miriakamba Hut (2500m), your chef will prepare a hot dinner and washing water for you. Enjoy the beautiful sunset and overnight.

Hiking Time: 4-6 hours

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut (2500m) – Saddle Hut (3500m)
After breakfast, you will start ascending up the steep trail along the ridge of the saddle. You may see various wildlife along the way! The trail has views of Mt. Meru Crater and the Ash Tray. When you arrive at camp, you have the option of hiking Little Mt. Meru (3820 m) with your guide to further acclimate. You will be served an early dinner, so you can receive ample rest before your midnight summit attempt. Get to sleep before dark

Hiking Time: 3-5 hours
Habitat: Forest and Moorland.
Day 3: Saddle Hut (3500m) – Summit Attempt (4566m) – Momela gate
We start early at around 1:30 a.m. to climb steeply to Rhino Point (3,800 m.) and on to Cobra Point (4350m). We reach the summit (4,566 m) on time for sunrise there is a possibility to see Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. The final part of the climb is along a spectacular narrow ridge line between the sheer inner cliffs and the sloping outer wall of the crater.
We take a short rest and brunch at Saddle Hut before continuing the descent to the Momella gate. The returning transfer will be waiting at Momella Gate to pick you to Arusha at the Jabulani Private Villa.
Distance: 5 km up 13 km down
Hiking Time: 12 – 14 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert Moorland and Montane forest.

Travel insurance
All customers traveling with Kilipeak Adventure are required to have fully comprehensive travel insurance.
The policy needs to be valid from the date that the initial order is placed so as to provide cover for a cancellation prior to departure.
During travel, the insurance needs to provide comprehensive medical, evacuation, and repatriation cover.
