8 Days Wildebeest Calving Migration Ndutu (December to April), The Great Wildebeest Calving Migration Safari has been designed specifically to focus on following the Great Serengeti Wildebeest migration during calving from December to April. A visit to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater is part of this safari as well Tarangire National Park and Visit Maasai Tribe in Tanzania.

The Southern Serengeti and Ndutu areas in Tanzania are the best locations for the months of January, February, and March to witness thousands of wildebeest spread across the plains grazing on the rich short grass plains. Predator action is at its peak with great sightings of cheetah, lion, hyena, and leopard and a very good chance to see Adrenalin packed kills.

Our safari vehicles with the hatched roof for shade against sunny African wilderness; are the extended body with roomy seats for comfortable sitting and stretching out legs. Every guest is accessible to the window seat. Cars are also fitted with fridges, power charge sockets and VHF radio calls for easy and fast communication with the base office.

We will then drive further to the Lake Ndutu area where the action takes place during the months of December through March. Day 4: Ndutu Plains Calving Safari

After breakfast will be spent at the Ndutu plains within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ndutu plains are where it all happens in the month of January to March as the wildebeest’s Migration gives birth to thousands of young calves every day. At Ndutu plains with the green pastures during this time of the year and the rich mineral soils that the herds adore you are sure to see the thousands of wildebeests accompanied by zebras, and gazelles spread along with vast areas, as well as have the rare chance to witness some real wildlife action as the predators engage the herds and try to snatch their loved newly born foals. A walking safari with an armed range is also an optional activity that you can enjoy at Ndutu, and you only need to ask your diver to arrange that. Accompanied by an armed ranger you will see animals at close range while listening to the lectures offered by the trained naturalists and rangers. Ndutu is also an amazing place to be for the avid bird watchers with 400 recorded residents and migratory bird species recorded.

The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals, which means there is plenty to see: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino, and leopards (if you are lucky).
